With Valentine's Day coming up in a couple weeks, I just had to share this recipe that I love. These truffles are delicious and just the right blend of sweet and spicy.

Indulge your taste buds with these irresistibly rich and spicy Dark Chocolate Chili Truffles. This unique blend of dark chocolate and a hint of chili creates a symphony of flavors that will leave you craving more. Perfect for a sophisticated treat or a thoughtful gift, these truffles are surprisingly easy to make.

  • 8 oz high-quality dark chocolate, finely chopped (My preferred brand)

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste) (My preferred brand)

  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat) (My preferred brand)

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, for coating (My preferred brand)

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just starts to simmer.

  2. Place the finely chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.

  3. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for a minute to melt the chocolate. Stir until smooth.

  4. Add the chili powder and cayenne pepper (if using) to the chocolate mixture. Mix well to incorporate the flavors.

  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or until it's firm enough to handle.

  6. Scoop out small portions of the chocolate mixture and roll them into bite-sized truffles.

  7. Roll each truffle in unsweetened cocoa powder to coat evenly.

  8. Chill the truffles in the refrigerator for another 30 minutes before serving.

These Dark Chocolate Chili Truffles offer a delightful combination of velvety chocolate and a subtle kick of spice. Enjoy the complex flavors that unfold with each indulgent bite!
